How Much Cable to Buy?

Typically, Jam Cable Railings have 1 continuous run from one end post to another, with a limit of 80′.  Usually, one end is a post next to the house and the other is at the bottom of the stairs.  Measure the total feet of your run, or runs if there is more than one.  Multiply that total by 10 (the total number of runs for a 36″ rail height).  Give yourself at least 5-6″ of extra length to each run to give you excess cable to grab when installing into fittings.  EXAMPLE:  50′ run + .5′ excess = 50.5′ x 10 = 505′ of cable needed.
